In Retro Remembrance
The eleventh day of the eleventh calendar month: Remembrance Day. Today'southward post is a tribute to the amazing men and women nosotros remember on this solar day, and I'm wearing my poppy with pride 🙂
I have created a serial of retro-expect photos showing my outfit for this important solar day, showing the poppy I made myself afterward seeing all the bling poppies worn on Television receiver. I decided to donate the money I would have paid for a bling poppy direct to the Royal British Legion and brand my own instead, and information technology inspired my ever-so-slightly retro outfit considering of today's connection with the world wars (information technology'south the hair, lips and pearls that do it).
Quite by accident ane of the shots was very overexposed and it looked like a really early on colour photo, and so I decided to go with it and create a similar effect on all of the last photos. (I love the first 1, I call up it looks like a hand-tinted 1930s or 40s flick.) The poppy I made merely by cut out the poppy shape from cherry-red card using one of the newspaper ones as a template then covering it in red felt; it was stuck onto a leaf fabricated of green leather on greenish card with a brooch pin on the back. Y'all tin see I covered the whole matter in black, cherry and green sparkle embellishments made for greetings cards – actually quite easy just I was so pleased with it.
I shall wear it with pride and treasure it for side by side yr, when I'll donate and wear my poppy again so the clemency gets 100% of my money.
Stay safe everyone x
